Designer time : Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda Collection

eng : It was couture on an operatic scale. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana took over the stage of La Scala Milan for a show about the heritage of Italian couture and of their home city in particular, an exercise that soared like an aria to opulence, femininity and the glorification of making excellent clothes.
They found the threads of their narrative in two sources: one, the Puccini operas Tosca, Turandot, and Madame Butterfly, and the other, the work of the Milanese dressmaker Biki, a lover of big hats, who fitted aristocratic women of the city with the finery they wore to the opera, as well as their wardrobes of neat day suits. Maria Callas was a customer—and Biki herself was a granddaughter of Puccini. To rush to the end: The story line—spectacle on the one hand, elegance on the other—worked so well that the fashion duo was brought back to the stage three times by a standing ovation.

gr: Οι Dolce&Gabbana, το σχεδιαστικό δίδυμο - απωθημένο της Ελληνίδας μικρομεσαίας από την Ξάνθη που σέβεται το bustier της και θέλει να το προβάλλει ανάλογα, παρουσίασαν την alta moda collection τους (βλέπε couture) στην Σκάλα του Μιλάνο. 2 ήταν οι πηγές έμπνευσής τους : α) οι όπερες του Puccini και β) η Ιταλίδα σχεδιάστρια Biki, λάτρης των τεράστιων καπέλων και σερβιτόρα στυλ της υψηλής βόρειας βιομηχανικής αριστοκρατίας. Δεν θέλω να γράψω κάτι για τα ρούχα, αυτά τα γράφει όλος κόσμος. Θέλω να σκεφτούμε μαζί ποιες κυρίες θα έπρεπε να φορέσουν οπωσδήποτε ΝτολτσεΓκαμπάνα. Εγώ π.χ. σκέφτομαι πως μια είναι η μάνα μου γιατί NτολτσεΓκαμπάνα φοράει η Sophia Lοren που την θαυμάζει (η μάνα μου).  Κάποια άλλη δεν σκέφτομαι μετά την μάνα μου, γιατί απλούστατα καμιά δεν είναι τόσο ωραία όσο η μάνα μου (μινιμαλιστική προσέγγιση μιας συλλογής μόδας).
