Greeks do it better (collection presentation) : STELIOS KOUDOUNARIS AW 2014-15

Stelios Koudounaris was born in 1981 and raised in Cyprus. As long as he can remember, he was always involved in fashion, since his family owned a fashion business. After studying Fashion Design and Garment Manufacture he moved to Athens and worked for some leading Greek fashion business as a fashion designer and stylist. He is now presenting his 13th personal label collection called “STELIOSKOUDOUNARIS” for fall/winter 2014-15. He has participated several times in Athens Exclusive Designer’s Week as well as in the Cyprus Fashion Week, Fashion Room Service by Ozon and Greek Designers’ Project by Absolute Vodka.

Since his very first collection, Stelios Koudounaris acquires a leading role in the Greek fashion system. International magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Madame Figaro, InStyle and many more presented his work several times, while Greek superstars choose his creations for their appearances. He uses the Cyprus mufflon as his trademark,slightly declaring the designer’s origin, a traditional figure statement, given a modern twist to explore his designs’ sharp shaped pattern cutting and dynamics.His collections are mainly driven by some rock and wild elegance always worked in such a way to elect women’s body. His minimal approach to female sexiness evolves through a mixture of razor-cut clear designs and futuristic mood.

Οι σπουδές του Κύπριου στην καταγωγή, σχεδιαστή μόδας, Στέλιου Κουδουνάρη έχουν να κάνουν με το Fashion Design και την κατασκευή ρούχων. Η εμπειρία του στο χώρο της μόδας ξεκινά από πολύ νεαρή ηλικία, παρατηρώντας τους γονείς του στο οικογενειακό εργοστάσιο. Μόλις ενηλικιώνεται, μετακομίζει στην Αθήνα για να βρει την δική του δημιουργική έκφραση, δουλεύοντας δίπλα στους μεγαλύτερους Έλληνες σχεδιαστές μόδας άλλα και σε στυλίστες. Το σήμα κατατεθέν του των συλλογών του είναι το mufflon, που δηλώνει και την καταγωγή του σχεδιαστή. Μια καθαρά προσωπική δήλωση, εμπλουτισμένη με σύγχρονες πινελιές και δυναμικά σχεδιαστικά μοτίβα. Η προσέγγισή του στην γυναικεία σιλουέτα είναι μινιμαλιστική με την σεξουαλικότητα που μπορεί να της προσδώσει να εκφράζεται μέσα από καθαρές γραμμές και μια ελαφρώς φουτουριστική διάθεση.
